“Testimonial from a 12-years experienced therapist”
“Finding Remco was a revelation. The techniques he taught me in his Thai Massage training allow me to work as deeply as I need with clients, using no muscle power. By being able to stay relaxed during a massage, I can provide an effective massage without hurting myself. I can give more massages and have a longer career. Also, by staying relaxed, clients are able to accept more pressure and I am more receptive to changes in their body. No other school or course in Chiang Mai can compare to this.”

Dynamic Thai Massage: Rock your massage to an amazing level

Back to overview courses

Instructor demonstrating dynamic rocking Thai massage techniques and joint mobilization on a floor mat in Chiang Mai

Why learn Dynamic Thai massage?
Just imagine: after a massage, your client opens her eyes and tells you that this is the most amazing massage she has ever had. This is feedback I often receive, and one of the secrets is the dynamic and rocking techniques. Dynamic and Rocking Thai Massage is an incredibly exciting style which will bliss out your clients. Add this style into your massage and you will be more popular, attract more clients, and be able to ask higher rates for your sessions.

If you are unable to study this massage with us in Chiang Mai, you can also study with us online. For more info click here

In Dynamic/Rocking Thai Massage, we use continuous movement, rocking, waving, harmonic movements, dynamic stretches, and joint mobilizations. As a therapist, you will have more variation, be more effective, and work more therapeutically. In my own massages, I use movement and rocking techniques all the time, as I have found that they have incredible benefits:

  • Rocking gives a deep sense of relaxation and stimulates energy flow.
  • It helps free stagnation and allows clients to recover freedom and mobility.
  • Dynamic pressure affects a greater area than static pressure.
  • It is a great tool for sensitive areas and clients who are resisting touch.
  • It is very helpful for joint problems and releasing blockages.
  • As a bonus, your clients will feel great during and after the massage!

What you will be learning:
Your massage will elevate, grow, reach a new depth, and become fuller and richer, making you a more successful therapist with more clients. Your Thai massage will be more creative, much more fluid, and reach deep levels of intuition where you feel more free and capable. The dynamic techniques give you new tools and a wider variation to work with different clients. Because you start to understand how to move from your own body, your massage becomes more effortless, effective, and better suited to your body type. This is a great course to study at our Chiang Mai massage school. You will also get unlimited access to our online course (with very clear instruction videos).

  • More than 50 exciting techniques, including harmonics, joint mobilizations, spinal waves, and rocking.
  • Methods to boost your smoothness, fluidity, and transitions.
  • Understanding exactly how to integrate rocking and dynamic techniques into your current routine.
  • How to rock from your body (hara) using the right body mechanics.
  • Special techniques for the hips, shoulders, and back, using different speeds of movement, waves, and vibrations.
  • A further understanding of how to make your massage more therapeutic.

NeuroThai: Treating Pain by Hacking the Nervous System

Back to overview courses

Collage highlighting chronic pain areas like back, neck, and shoulder pain treated with NeuroThai therapy

“NeuroThai is a gentle method of interacting with clients to help them resolve pain, regain function, and feel better through kind and compassionate touch. This is a truly holistic approach, which treats the client’s nervous system and directly communicates with the brain.”

Why learn NeuroThai?

As a practitioner of more than 20 years, I have always been deeply interested in how to help clients who are suffering from chronic pain, exploring many different modalities. Most bodywork methods are purely tissue-based and don’t pay attention to the nervous system. Yet, it is the nervous system that links our body to our brain. When I discovered how to directly connect with the nervous system using DNM (DermoNeuroModulation), everything clicked. I thought to myself, “Why didn’t we pay attention to this earlier?”

If you want to learn how to effectively treat clients suffering from back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, and structural discomfort, this training is for you. Through this course, you will gain a profound understanding of modern pain science, master gentle manual techniques, and learn how to safely interact with a sensitive nervous system to down-regulate pain signals.

Cautionary Note: This is not a “magic bullet” to instantly heal every chronic pain case. However, this approach will fundamentally equip you to help pain clients much more effectively through both refined manual touch and science-backed clinical communication.

About NeuroThai & Pain Management

NeuroThai blends the art of traditional Thai massage with modern neuro-centric client interactions. From Thai tradition, we carry over working on a comfortable floor mat, the mastery of a deep listening touch, a tight mind-body connection, proper body mechanics, and intuitive creativity. We combine this with DermoNeuroModulation (DNM) principles, putting the focus entirely on safety, comfort, and neural pathways.

  • It can be integrated smoothly right into a traditional Thai massage session (or any other modality).
  • It can be offered as a highly effective, standalone therapeutic treatment.

It is important to understand that NeuroThai is an approach and a standard of touch that can be infused into any existing massage style rather than a completely rigid separate modality.

What will you learn?

We shift the focus from a purely tissue-bound approach toward the nervous system, allowing you to integrate this revolutionary method into your existing practice. While this course is highly practical and hands-on (80% of class time), we thoroughly cover essential theoretical structures like modern pain science, neurodynamics, and the biopsychosocial model of pain. You will learn:

  • How to address pain, neurological dysfunctions, and limited range of motion across the neck, back, shoulders, jaw, spine, hips, sacrum, and limbs.
  • Over 50 to 60 targeted techniques engineered to reduce pain and increase mobile range.
  • The Brain-Skin Connection: How touching the skin allows us to directly communicate with the brain via the cutaneous nerves.
  • The Biopsychosocial Model: A truly holistic, science-backed approach that evaluates biological, social, and psychological factors in chronic pain.
  • Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE): Learning to explain how chronic pain tracks work in everyday language to clear up client misinformation.
  • Touch Physiology: Cultivating a specific touch quality that is slow, light, kind, intelligent, and deeply responsive.
  • Therapeutic Alliance: Transforming your session from an operative routine into an interactive partnership where the client is active in their healing.
  • Neurodynamics: Managing the mechanical mobilization and signaling pathways of the nervous system in relation to the musculoskeletal system.

The 1-Month Intensive Thai Massage Course: Building a Strong Foundation

Back to overview courses

Teacher shows foundational body mechanics and passive stretching sequences in a group class setting

Why enroll in the 1-month foundation Thai massage course at Blue Garden Chiang Mai?
The goal of the 1-month intensive Thai massage training is to give you as a beginning student a firm and strong foundation. As a result, within this month you will have enough skill, experience, and knowledge to be a highly effective Thai massage therapist.

Learning Thai massage takes time. Having taught the beginning principles to many students, I know there is only so much one can learn in a single week (see my blog post). Many students who start with high expectations understand after a week that it takes more time to master, and they can feel disheartened. Others move on to an advanced course without fully absorbing the beginning fundamentals, or they switch to another school in Chiang Mai, which often just creates more confusion.

That is why I am always happy to work with my students for a longer period. I can see them truly improving, I see their confidence grow, and as that happens, they start to deeply enjoy giving bodywork. During our last intensive training track, I was incredibly proud to watch our dedication pay off—after one month of immersive work, every single student was capable of executing a full, beautiful 2-hour Thai massage treatment.

What you will be learning:
The first steps of learning Thai massage are critical, because it is very easy to pick up bad posture habits and there is a massive amount to master. There are immense benefits to studying closely with an instructor who has been actively teaching and practicing traditional Thai massage for more than 15 years in fluent English.

  • How to properly use your body weight and leverage (body mechanics).
  • Our unique principles of ground, core, and expression to maximize touch quality.
  • How to develop a highly intuitive “listening touch” and clear energetic connection.
  • The rich historical background and traditional theory of Thai bodywork.
  • More than 150 foundational and intermediate manual techniques.
  • How to locate and work along the 10 primary energy lines (Sib Sen).
  • How to safely apply variations of deep and soft physical pressure.
  • Understanding the unique anatomical needs and structural differences between clients’ bodies.
  • Extensive hands-on practice to build real, fluid confidence on the mat.

Having studied with my own principal Thai massage teacher for over 12 months, I know firsthand the life-changing benefits of long-term mentoring under a qualified teacher. I saw my own work transform, just as I see it happen with my long-term students here. I would love to welcome you into this unique immersive space.

Course Schedule:

  • Week 1: Learning the core principles of Thai massage, proper posture alignments, and the opening sequence blocks.
  • Week 2: Deepening your body mechanics across advanced techniques and introducing foundational flying stretches.
  • Week 3: Clinical rhythm and flow—giving 1 full, monitored massage treatment every day to build intuitive sensory feedback.
  • Week 4: Advanced integration—introducing specialized stretches, therapeutic lines, and foundational abdominal work.
  • Every Saturday (Optional): Open community practice, integration, and play day.

Advanced Stretches and Joint Mobilizations: Become a Master at Stretches

Back to overview courses

Instructor demonstrating advanced structural stretching and passive joint mobilization techniques

Why study advanced stretching and joint mobilizations?
One of the parts which makes Thai massage so unique and popular is the applied stretching. The feedback I receive from my customers is that they just loved to be stretched. In a standard Thai Massage (or when studying), mostly the stretching will be limited to a back bend and a twist. Which is unfortunate, because there are so many interesting and cool stretches you can use in your sessions to make your Thai massage stand out.

Another feature which can make your massage stand out is joint mobilizations. These days people hardly move and sit down for long periods of time, which creates blockages in joints. Joints need movement. Furthermore, many people have issues with joints (hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, wrists). So when you know how to mobilize and how to create movement for joints, it gives you an extra tool to help your clients better.

What you will be learning in this Chiang Mai Thai Massage training:
In this course, you will be learning a great number of stretches and joint mobilizations:

  • Many (more than 90) advanced stretches and mobilizations, most of them not taught at other schools.
  • Our unique principles of ground, core, foundation, and expression to dynamic touch quality.

  • How to mobilize and open joints, including specific techniques for the ankles, hips, shoulders, and spine.
  • Working with muscle energy techniques (MET) to deepen stretches safely.
  • How to get a better feel for how deep to stretch and understand somatic resistance.
  • How to change your routine into a more targeted therapeutic massage.
  • Individualized feedback on techniques, adapting the method to best suit your personal body type.

Neck Therapy: Treating the Neck Safely and Effectively

Back to overview courses

Therapist executing a precise, gentle release technique for chronic neck and shoulder muscle tension

Why learn Neck therapy?
This is a very special course which gives you as a practitioner a range of possibilities. You can use this massage as a supplement to your traditional Thai massage routine or as a deeply relaxing standalone treatment.

I especially designed this course because I noticed that standard Thai massage can sometimes lack focus in common upper-body problem areas like the neck, shoulders, and chest. These days, so many people are holding chronic tension or experiencing structural issues in these areas. For you as a therapist, knowing how to targetedly resolve this tension is incredibly beneficial. Furthermore, the head and face massage in traditional training is often neglected or executed in an unsubtle way.

If you are unable to study this massage with us in Chiang Mai, you can also study with us online. For more info click here

What you will be learning:
In this massage course, I will be teaching you how to deliver a full upper-body treatment consisting of the chest, shoulders, a wide range of dedicated neck techniques (our main focus), and refined work on the head and face. You can offer this as a distinct standalone service—which I often do in my own practice to great popularity—or seamlessly integrate it into your existing routines.

Included with the course is unlimited access to our online course (with very clear instruction videos).

Many of my clients call this a massage from heaven. This routine will not only send your clients into Nirvana during the session, but they will also feel a profound structural difference afterward: less pain, increased mobility, fewer restrictions, and a deep sense of total relaxation. Since almost all clients struggle with upper-body tension and stress, having these precise approaches is essential for every bodywork professional.

Of course, you will be learning many interesting, creative, and varied techniques like compressions, passive stretches, gentle rotations, joint mobilizations, and muscle energy techniques. But above all, you will learn how to master your quality of touch. Because clients are often sensitive or even protective about their neck, how you touch them is paramount. When your hands resonate with kindness, trust, and listening, your client feels safe and is fully able to surrender and let go. This compassionate approach drastically improves your clinical results.

  • Learn many specialized, deep techniques to effectively and safely address the cervical neck region.
  • Master a beautiful, flowing, and meditative sequence covering the shoulders, chest, neck, head, ears, and face.
  • Over 85 total techniques: 21 for the shoulders and chest, 27 detailed paths for the neck, and 44 delicate variations for the head, face, and ears.
  • How to cultivate a soft, highly sensitive touch specifically tuned for delicate structural work.
  • The right way to align your body weight, breath, and balance from your center (body mechanics), allowing you to work almost effortlessly without generating tension in your own shoulders.

Listening Touch: Enter the Realm of Listening and Feeling

Back to overview courses

Massage therapist demonstrating mindful listening touch and bodywork presence

Why learn a listening touch + body mechanics?
One of my teachers told me once: *”Techniques are nothing, touching is everything.”* You can study and know the most amazing techniques, but what really defines how good you are as a massage therapist will always be your quality of touch.

So many times when I give a massage, clients tell me: *”Finally, somebody who feels and listens to my body.”* So often, therapists are so involved in their techniques or their sequence that they forget the most important part of the massage—to listen and feel. The art of touching is not an innate talent, but something that can be learned. If your touch is one of deep listening, rooted in softness rather than hardness, and filled with Metta (loving-kindness), your Thai massage will completely transform. You will become a much better therapist and attract many more clients.

What you will be learning:
To develop a touch like this takes time, but it absolutely can be mastered. For an important part, it is directly related to using the right body mechanics. In this intensive workshop, we will explore practical ways to significantly improve your sensory feedback and touch depth. This material is taught exclusively as a private course, and it serves as a massive eye-opener for anyone who would like to build a serious career as a manual therapist.

Why Study at Blue Garden: High-Quality Teaching and Personal Attention

Back to overview courses

Group of massage students practicing mindful touch quality and body weight leverage under guidance

There are many massage schools and a vast variation of training paths available today. So why choose to study with us? Here are the reasons our students frequently share about why they deeply appreciate their learning experience at Blue Garden Chiang Mai:

  • Personalized Attention: Receive close personal guidance, individual posture corrections, and continuous direct feedback.
  • Direct Mentorship: Study and learn traditional Thai bodywork directly from a highly experienced, deeply effective, and dedicated instructor.
  • Our Core Teaching Principles: In all of our courses, we apply a unique structural framework designed to elevate your bodywork from a basic routine to an amazing therapeutic dance:
    • Foundation: Emphasizing correct body mechanics to use your physical structure in the most effective and safe way possible. You learn to work entirely without muscle power, letting your body weight do the work.
    • Core: Learning how to massage effortlessly from your physical center (Hara, core) while embracing core internal qualities like loving-kindness (Metta) and compassion.
    • Expression: Developing the practical capability to translate your presence into a high-quality, responsive “listening touch.”
  • Digital Resources: Gain permanent, unlimited access to our online video libraries and instruction films with many of our physical courses.
  • Clear Communication: Absolute clarity with zero language barriers—all of our training tracks are taught in fluent, native-level English.
  • Flexible Development: Long-term, custom-tailored individual training programs are available year-round at our Chiang Mai school.

Small Groups or Private Teaching

Close-up of therapeutic touch focus during a private body mechanics and alignment masterclassThrough my years as an instructor, I have found that students progress fastest and learn best when teaching is done in small, intimate groups (maximum of 10 students). Crucial to the learning experience is receiving real-time posture feedback while you are actively practicing on the mat. Under the watchful eye of a dedicated teacher, you avoid picking up bad habits and build lasting clinical confidence much quicker.

Learning Thai Massage Takes Time

To learn how to deliver a truly impactful, deeply therapeutic Thai massage takes real time. While a 1-week course can be a wonderful introduction, it is ultimately just the beginning. Most of our students understand this and choose to extend their studies with us, often accumulating up to 80 or more than 100 hours of class time. In this way, when they return home, they feel they have a rock-solid foundation to immediately launch their professional practice.

So while we offer beautifully structured set weekly modules, it is always possible to contact me with your specific timeframe and professional ambitions. From there, I will be happy to design a specialized, long-term program built uniquely for you.
