In this lesson you learn 3 more additional mobilizations. As I mentioned earlier in the course to bring movement in to your Neck therapy is important. Bodies and also necks need movement to stay ‘healthy’, so make sure in your Neck Therapy session you move the neck into all directions.
These mobilizations are not part of a series so they don’t need to be done in a particular order.
When doing a ‘Neck Therapy’ session I would suggest that you sequence mobilizations and stretches after compression techniques.
Also I will introduce something called ‘muscle energy’ techniques, which can help to create a ‘better’ range of movement.
In this lesson there will be 3 video’s covering more techniques.
1. Sid to side
2. Figure 8
3. Indian yes
Video 1: Side to side
> How to ‘hold and move the head’ without tension
> Why it is important not to move out of force/tension
> Technique ‘Side to side’ explained + right body mechanisms
> How to incorporate muscle energy techniques within side to side movement
Video 2: Figure 8
> Technique: ‘Figure 8’ explained in detail + right body mechanisms
> How to incorporate muscle energy techniques into figure 8
Video 3: ‘Indian yes’
> Technique: ‘Indian Yes’ explained in detail + right body mechanisms
> Two variations of this technique
- Creating movement and mobility
- Giving a novel input to the nervous system
- Releasing tension, pain, blockages (physical/emotional) in massaged areas client
- Creating more space and freedom
Side to side: repeat 2 – 5 times
Figure 8: repeat 2 – 5 times
Indian Yes: around 1 minute
